Do you need more bandwidth?
For years, fiber bandwidth has been called the wave of the future. Looking at the types of applications that are popular with both consumers and enterprises, it quickly becomes clear that nothing else will match the bandwidth required.

Goodbye SONET, hello Ethernet
Existing telecommunications companies and long distance service providers built their fiber optic networks with the SONET protocol because it was a logical transition from copper TDMs such as T1 and E1. All new networks are built on Carrier Ethernet, and old ones are rapidly being converted.
